Carmaker sees ultrafast charging for 2022 electric vehicles

Honda claims its high-capacity batteries will be fully rechargeable in 15 minutes In brief: Honda is planning to enter the electric vehicle market with revolutionary latest technologies that could potentially usher in EV mass adoption. The plan includes a new line of EVs built with high-capacity batteries that can be charged fully in 15 minutes. A BOLD PROMISE Until very recently, manufacturing electric vehicles (EVs) didn’t seem to be the priority at Honda. In fact, the Japanese carmaker has been dubbed the world’s largest internal combustion engine (ICE) manufacturer. The veteran car manufacturer, which has previously focused on developing hydrogen fuel cars, now has two EVs latest technology in the works, both slated for a 2018 roll-out. Joining the EV race at a point in which most car makers already have their own electric cars — including Japanese rivals Toyota and Nissan — Honda seems intent on making their vehicles stand out in latest technology. Earlier this year, the co...

Dogs can't speak human. Here's the tech that could change that.

A pet translator could be available in less than a decade What if your pet dog or cat could talk instead of barking or meowing? You’d know just how much Rover loves you — and maybe how sorry Fluffy is about that mess on the carpet. We all know that’s not about to happen. But recent advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning suggest the longstanding dream of being able to converse with animals — in a limited fashion — could become a reality. With the help of AI, scientists are learning how to translate animals’ vocalizations and facial expressions into something we can understand. Recent advances include an AI system that listens in on marmoset monkeys to parse the dozen calls they use to communicate with each other and one that reads sheep’s faces to determine whether an animal is in pain. Taking note of the research, an Amazon-sponsored report on future trends released last summer predicted that in 10 years, we’ll have a translator for pets. WHAT PRAIRIE D...

Battery-powered planes could become Ubers of the air

A battery-powered single-engine plane just completed its first test flight. Eco-friendly electric cars have been around for years, and now it seems that the latest technology works on roads may soon be showing up in the skies. An all-electric single-engine airplane recently made its inaugural test flight in Australia, pointing toward a possible “green” revolution that could see small planes operate in Uber-esque fleets to provide short flights to customers on demand. The Alpha Electro, a battery-powered two-seater made by Slovenian aircraft manufacturer Pipistrel, took off from Jandakot Airport in Perth and circled the airfield twice before landing. The flight went smoothly, according to Richard Charlton, finance director at Electro.Aero, a Perth-based startup working with Pipistrel to develop electric airplanes. Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 packs powerful Intel-AMD combo at CES 2018

This folding 15-incher is one of the first laptops with Intel's new hybrid chips that include AMD Radeon graphics. It's a latest technology (hybrid inside a hybrid) . That's the best way to think about the new XPS 15 two-in-one from Dell. This big-screen laptop has a 360-degree hinge, so it folds all the way back to form a tablet -- we've seen that plenty of times before, but never in Dell's high-end XPS 15 line. it may interest you to read related updates 1.     LENOVO MIXES SMARTPHONE FEATURES INTO ITS ALL-DAY MIIX 630 2.      SAMSUNG GALAXY S9 UNVEILING REPORTEDLY SET FOR MWC IN FEBRUARY 3.      IS CREATIVE'S X-FI SONIC CARRIER ATMOS SOUND BAR WORTH $5,800? Inside, it has a new CPU package that's part of Intel's eighth generation of Core i-series chips. But this is also a hybrid part. Navya's latest technology Cab could be your first self-driving car experience

At CES 2018, Navya demonstrated its latest technology Autonom Cab, which for most people will probably be their first time in an autonomous car. You're not likely to buy a latest technology of self-driving car anytime soon, but you may end up riding in one. Navya is already deploying its Autonom Shuttle for public transportation in select areas around the world, and showed off its Autonom Cab at CES 2018, a newer vehicle which will see public tests this year. The Autonom Cab, designed for ride-hailing services, leaves out the driver controls entirely in what is known as a Level 5 autonomous vehicle. Meeting with Navya President Christophe Sapet in the Autonom Cab, its seating arrangement and spare interior created a comfortable space, making it easy for passengers to converse. Sapet emphasized the small size of the company, at just 180 employees, and how much it has accomplished. The meeting was supposed to include a ride in the Autonom Cab, but Navya canceled that part of ...

Aeolus is the smart home robot of my dreams

I was hoping to find Rosie the latest technoloy Robot at CES. I found Rosie the Robot. Last year, I saw a lot of cool robots at CES. With their pieces combined, I thought we could make a pretty good approximation of Rosie the Robot from "The Jetsons." To me, that's the ideal end for a smart home robot: one that can clean for you, pick up after you and watch over your home when you can't. Aeolus can do all of those things. Rosie the Robot has arrived at CES 2018. To be fair, this Rosie's still a prototype, but it's a working prototype. Right now, it can grab objects and hand them to you. It can hold a vacuum and clean your floor. It can learn different objects and where they go. In theory, it'll be able to clean your floors. By learning your objects, it'll be able to pick up a room. This latest technology is incredible you can also read about 1.     LITTER ROBOT LOOKS LIKE A SPACESHIP FOR YOUR CAT TO POOP IN 2.     LIFESTYLE AND SLEEP: LIVE...

Lifestyle and sleep: Live right, sleep right with the latest technology

The Quartz Bottle: Using ultraviolet light to keep itself and the water inside clean, Quartz is a water bottle that has a UV-C light in its lid. Every four hours the light is triggered, which Quartz claims help purifies the water and the bottle itself. Kolibree Magic toothbrush: Geared towards kids, this toothbrush uses an augmented-reality-based phone app and the phone's front-facing camera to incentivize kids to brush their teeth thoroughly. 1-mainpicture-somnox This sleep pillow "breathes" in and out to help you fall asleep. Osram SFH 4735 embeddable emitter: First introduced as SCiO in 2016 as a standalone scanner and its latest technology again in 2017 as a phone, the Osram chip is a near-infrared spectrometer that can tell you the chemical components of an object and gathers information on things like soil content, body fat, medicine, how sweet a piece of fruit is and more.
